Role Overview

Lodgify is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team and play a vital role in building and managing our modern data platform.

This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure — enabling data-driven decisions across the company.

How Will You Make an Impact?

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using our core data stack.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and contribute to data governance practices.
• Develop and optimize data models using dbt for analytics and operational use cases.
• Troubleshoot data issues, including tracking implementation problems.
• Ensure data infrastructure supports downstream consumers, including analytics and future AI/ML initiatives.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to ensure data accessibility for visualization and operational syncing (Hightouch).
• Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of the data platform.
• Mentor team members and promote data engineering best practices.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

• 7+ years in data engineering with hands-on experience in the modern data stack.
• Advanced SQL and proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
• Strong data modeling and data warehousing fundamentals.
• Proven experience with orchestration tools (e.g., mage.ai, Airflow), dbt, and ELT solutions (e.g., Fivetran, Airbyte).
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• History of building and maintaining reliable, end-to-end data pipelines in production.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

How Can You Earn Extra Bonus Points?

• Knowledge of JavaScript/Frontend for tracking and debugging.
• Experience with BI/visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts and data needs.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures or GDPR/data privacy regulations.
• Experience in SaaS or the Travel/Hospitality industry.
