Are you a compassionate pediatrician looking to practice full-scope hospital medicine in a setting that values both clinical excellence and work-life balance? Join the largest pediatric hospitalist team in the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC)—where innovation meets heart, and your voice truly matters.
We’re looking for a Pediatric Hospitalist who’s passionate about caring for children, mentoring future physicians, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team in a hospital that feels like home.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
12-hour shifts (7a–7p / 7p–7a) – predictable schedule with no call
Always two pediatricians on shift – built-in peer support, never solo
Diverse inpatient responsibilities
Teach third-year pediatric residents, family medicine residents, and med students—academic involvement without academic politics
Epic EMR for streamlined workflows and coordination
Compensation & Perks That Go Beyond the Basics:
Highly competitive compensation package + generous sign-on bonus
Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and malpractice insurance (paid)
403(b) with employer match
Paid time off + CME allowance and days
Leadership that listens, a team that collaborates, and an environment where your growth is supported every step of the way
Life at BWMC & on the Chesapeake Bay:
Located just minutes from Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Annapolis, UM BWMC is a 285-bed hospital that serves as a regional leader in pediatric, emergency, and surgical care. As part of UMMS, you’ll benefit from the resources of an academic system while practicing in a community where your impact is personal and deeply felt.
Outside the hospital, you’ll discover all the perks of coastal living—easy access to the bay, charming small towns, weekend getaways, and an affordable cost of living that supports a truly balanced lifestyle.
