Job Title: Cognos BI Developer

Location: Albany, NY(Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Qualification:

• Experience as a Cognos Reports Writer/Developer, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze legacy reports, design future reporting solutions, and configure models and modules using Cognos BI Framework Manager and Data Modules. Skilled in developing and managing multi-dimensional reports, dashboards, and ETL data structures.
• Proficient in the end-to-end development and administration of Cognos BI (v11.1.7 and above), including model/module configuration, security implementation, architecture design, and ongoing system maintenance.
• Extensive experience working with relational database systems such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, including SSRS, SSIS, and PL/SQL for developing and deploying reports, packages, and stored procedures; adept at writing and troubleshooting T-SQL statements, views, triggers, and user-defined functions.
• Demonstrated expertise in analytics, API integrations, and dashboard delivery across platforms including Cognos, EZSpec, Power BI, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS. Well-versed in delivering solutions in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid SDLC environments.
• Strong background in report and data validation testing, including functional, regression, and integration testing. Experienced in creating test plans, executing report test cases, conducting sanity checks, managing defect resolution, and providing comprehensive testing documentation to support final deliverables sign-off.
• Hands-on experience supporting a diverse suite of cross-functional technologies including Unisys Agile Business Suite, Cognos BI, Power BI, Power Automate, Salesforce, Databridge, Tableau, and Talend.
• Delivered end-user and IT training in Cognos BI, covering report authoring, dashboard creation, and data module configuration. Developed comprehensive user guides, toolkits, and SOPs to support self-service BI adoption.
• Proficient in the design, development, and maintenance of reports and dashboards using tools such as Crystal Reports, Tableau, Talend, and other leading data visualization platforms.
• Holder of relevant industry certifications, including but not limited to:
  • IBM Cognos BI Certification
  • Microsoft Power BI Certification
  • Microsoft SQL Server, Data Visualization, and Database Fundamentals Certifications
  • Cloud/CRM Reporting Certifications (e.g., MS Dynamics, Salesforce, Tableau)
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with proven experience in managing reporting projects from initiation to deployment, aligning deliverables with business goals and user requirements.
